Here is downtown River Falls at night, looking south. You can pretty much see the entire downtown, it's not very big. The road is split into two one way sides with parking and trees in the middle. I've noticed that when i take photos at night police cars drive by slowly, and i imagine they are thinking "What is that guy doing with a tripod? Oh, it's a camera.".

This photograph reminds me of a movie set. No traffic. Just a good perspective on street lights. Very nice photography.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I do appreciate it.
I did get about 50 photos of the Pileated Woodpecker but of those only about a dozen are acceptable. One of the bird flying is sort of special to me as it looks more like a rocket in flight than a woodpecker.
This is a link to that page in February.

Like this street shot. The car meter poles (which can never find here in Singapore)reminded me of my place in Sydney.
I know what you mean about the police. When I was young and single in Monroe, Louisiana where I grew up, I would go out photographing on nights of insomnia. I just thought it was the cocky, southern cops who did that. They would stop and ask me what I'm doing. Duh!
I like the shot though, night photography seems kind of magical to me. I never tire of looking at folks' photos.
@abraham: That is a great photo of the woodpecker. I love feeding birds too, but usually end up with more grackles than other birds. It does look like a movie set, heh. The town goes to bed early and there were a few cars, but after a couple of shots i got a few that had none.
@Jam: I haven't been talked to by the police yet, just checked out. I'm kind of surprised as i take pictures of almost anything to see how it looks. I had to resist getting the camera out last night when two police cars had stopped someone and had the red and blue lights going, i wanted to know what that would look like, but i thought they might not like that too much. ;)
