I saw this hornet or wasp between my patio door and the storm door and found it turned out kind of neat. It was walking on the opposite side of glass as the grasshopper in the other post, and was about as big, the length of one of my fingers.

It looks like it is hungry and was looking for something to eat when trapped. Either way, I hope you let it escape.
Where was I in 1953?
Yeah, i opened up the outside door so it could get out, and later it wasn't there so i assume it got out. Not sure how it got there in the first place, but it was having a hard time finding a way out. I did feel the need to get a picture of it before setting it free though. ;)
